Terms of Service

Last updated 19 August 2026

The rules for playing Hook Heroes. Written in plain language, so the parts that actually affect you are findable rather than buried.

1.The agreement

Hook Heroes is provided by OddEngine OÜ, registry code 17561323, Estonia. By downloading or playing the game you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not play it.

This agreement is between you and us. Apple and Google distribute the game and take your payment, but they are not party to these terms and did not write them.

2.Who can play

Hook Heroes is rated 13 and over. You must be at least 13 to play it, and at least the age your own country sets for agreeing to terms like these on your own behalf. If you are under that age, a parent or guardian has to agree on your behalf and is responsible for what you do in the game.

If you are a parent or guardian and your child is playing, purchases made on your device are your responsibility — both stores let you require approval or a password for every purchase, and we would encourage it.

3.Your licence to play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Hook Heroes on a device you own or control, for your own private entertainment. On iOS that licence is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control and is subject to the Usage Rules in Apple’s App Store Terms of Service, including their allowance for Family Sharing.

You may not sell, rent or sublicense the game; reverse engineer, decompile or modify it except where the law expressly says you may; or remove any notice of ownership from it.

The game, its art, its music, its code and its name belong to us or to the people we licensed them from. Nothing here transfers any of that to you.

4.Fair play

Please do not:

  • use cheats, bots, modified clients or memory editors;
  • exploit a bug for advantage instead of reporting it;
  • interfere with our servers, or with anyone else’s ability to play;
  • buy, sell or trade accounts or in-game items outside the game.

5.Coins, gems and upgrades

Hook Heroes contains virtual currency and virtual items. They have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game, and are licensed to you rather than owned by you.

Some of them are deliberately temporary. Coins and the per-level upgrades they buy are reset when you clear a level — that is how the game is designed to work, not a fault, and it is not a loss we compensate. Premium currency and what it buys are permanent.

We may change the balance, price or availability of any virtual item to keep the game working well.

6.Purchases and refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms, not ours. We never receive your payment details.

Refunds are theirs to give. Apple and Google each operate their own refund policy, and we cannot issue, force or appeal a refund on their behalf — so contacting them directly is both faster and the only route that works. If you were charged for something you did not receive, write to support@odd-engine.com with your store receipt and we will make it right in-game.

If you are a consumer in the EU: by starting to use digital content immediately, you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once delivery has begun.

7.Your progress

Your progress is saved against a player profile. If you have not linked that profile to Game Center or Play Games, it lives on the device — and a factory reset, a lost phone, or a move to a different platform will take it with them. Linking is the only reliable way to carry a save across devices, and we would rather tell you now than at the point it matters.

We back up cloud-saved progress and take care of it, but we cannot promise a save will never be lost, and we do not compensate lost progress with currency or items.

8.Ads and notifications

Hook Heroes is free because advertising pays for it. Some ads are optional and reward you for watching; others are not. Ads come from advertising networks, not from us: we do not write them, we do not vet every one individually, and we do not endorse what they sell. If an ad is broken, offensive or misleading, tell us at support@odd-engine.com and we will report it to the network.

We may send push notifications, but only if you allow them, and you can withdraw that at any time in your device settings. What we collect to send them, and how to stop, is in the Privacy Policy.

9.Services we do not run

Hook Heroes uses services from other companies — Apple’s Game Center, Google Play Games, Unity’s gaming services, and the advertising networks named in our Privacy Policy. When you use them through the game you are also bound by their terms, which we do not control and cannot change. If one of those services goes away or changes, the part of the game that depends on it may change too.

10.Availability and changes

We may update, suspend or discontinue Hook Heroes, or any part of it, at any time. We will give reasonable notice in the game before shutting the service down, unless circumstances outside our control make that impossible.

11.Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms — for example by cheating or attacking the service. You can stop at any time by deleting the game. If we terminate your access without cause, you keep any right to a refund the law gives you.

12.Disclaimer and liability

Hook Heroes is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that saved progress will never be lost.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the game in the twelve months before the claim arose.

If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

13.If you play on iOS

Apple requires the following, and it applies in addition to everything above:

  • These terms are between you and OddEngine OÜ only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Hook Heroes or its content.
  • We, not Apple, are solely responsible for support and maintenance. Apple has no obligation to provide either.
  • If Hook Heroes fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever, and every other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from that failure is ours.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim that Hook Heroes or your use of it infringes someone’s intellectual property rights.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for claims relating to product liability, any failure to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must comply with the terms of any third-party agreement that applies when you use Hook Heroes.
  • Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce them against you.

14.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the game or the law changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will tell you in the game before a material change takes effect. If you keep playing afterwards, that is your acceptance; if you would rather not accept, you can stop playing and delete the game.

15.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, and disputes fall to the courts of Estonia. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in your own country of residence, and you keep the protection of its mandatory consumer law.

Consumers in Estonia may also take a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Committee at the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Järelevalve Amet). Talking to us first is usually faster.

16.The rest

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else; we may transfer ours if the business changes hands, and your rights are unaffected if we do. Together with the Privacy Policy, this is the whole agreement between us about Hook Heroes.

17.Contact

Questions about these terms go to support@odd-engine.com.
